DANI: THANKFUL FOR HER BROTHER DYLAN

When Dani came home for the first time in April 2017 she was greeted by her brother Dylan.

Dylan was the last of my 3-D Cats.  Dante a large ginger Maine Coon, and Domino a tiny tuxy girl had both left us for higher aspirations the year before.

In the 3-D Cat hierarchy, Dylan had come last so he was accustomed to bending to the will of the others.  Dante and Dylan got along very well, and Domino was the feisty dominator who held efurryone to account.  I only tell you this as it purrtains to Dylan's next relationship.

The picture immediately below was taken the first day Dani joined us.  Dylan took her under his wing, showing her all the ropes from the word ‘Go’!  He was very gentle and good-natured, seeming to relish having a new little appurrentice.

Dylan and Dani had a very 'rugged' relationship.

And Dani really looked up to Dylan.

Dylan was famous for his startled look which consisted of wonky ears and bugged-out eyes.  This was my favourite of all of Dylan's pictures because the open mouth lends a whole other level making him appear happily alarmed.  Which he was, actually.

Unfortunately, Dylan became ill suddenly in June of 2017 and it was clear that this was something serious. I called in mobile vets because it was the fastest way to get veterinary help.

Dylan had been hiding under my bed for a couple of days.  The vet and her technician retrieved him as it was a tricky undertaking.  He was examined and the vet thought it would be best to put him to sleep.

Finally, he was at peace and the vet suggested that Dani sniff him so that she would understand that he had gone through his metamorphosis.

It seemed to me that Dylan had stuck around long enough to accomplish his mentoring mission with Dani before he left for his final journey.  What a sweet boy!

The vets presented us with a rock painted with Dylan's name, and we placed it in the garden (one of Dylan's favourite spots).  It seemed very appropriate because while he was here, Dylan was Dani's rock.

He will always be remembered, and the love will never fade.  Dani is so grateful that she had such a kind brother who will now watch over her during her time here on earth.  Dylan is her guardian angel.

"Fanks yoo, Dylan, fur bein' my big brofur.  I wuvs yoo furever!"
says Dani.

We remember handsome Dylan, of course we remember with fondness all the 3Ds ... a wonderful trio of cats, always so beautifully photographed by you, a joy to see and visit. Wasn't Dylan a special friend to one of Jacqueline's girls?
How sweet of him to welcome Dani into her new home and life ... may he forever rest well.

Dani we have a lot of big and little family here and I am glad that I got to mentor each and every one. Now that I am an Angel I look down and feel content on a job well done. Yes there are whap and spats but each night they all still sleep on the bed. Maybe not together but in good proximity.
