DANI AND SOX DO NEW YEAR'S EVE!

Dani and Sox are partying it up big this New Year's Eve!

They are celebrating the beginning of 'The Year of the Rat' according to the Chinese zodiac.

Dani is keeping her eye on all of the rats at the party, as they are known to steal your food ...  

... and your drink!

Sox has just thrown caution to the wind indulging in a catnip-fest all of his own.  He has invited a rat to join him in the frivolity but the rat just wanted to blow its own horn.

It seems that rats are up to all kinds of shenanigans.  There are even some swingers at the party!

For entertainment, there's also a juggler ...

... a disco dancer ...

... and rats in a Conga line!

Who knew rats were so versatile?  Purrhaps rats have gotten a bad rap after all.  2020 will tell its own story as the New Year unfolds.

Let's start it off with a bang!

DANI AND SOX: THINGS FOR CHRISTMAS!

All day today is Christmas Eve and Dani and Sox are waiting quite impatiently.

THING 1 is wondering when Santa will come

THING 2 wonders where he's coming from

... AND WHY IS HE 'STOCKING' US?

O THE WONDER OF IT ALL!

O CHRISTMAS TREE WITH DANI!

Dani is all decked out in this year's Christmas costume.  "What is it?"you may ask.

Believe it or not, Dani is a Christmas tree in her dark emerald-green cloak, complete with decorations and trimmed in white snow.  

Although Christmas trees usually stand proud and tall, Dani has chosen the prone pawsition, and insisted on staying that way, with this explanation:

"Chrismuss trees hasta stand all a' dere lifes.  Sumwun hasta cut 'em down so dey kin even getta break.  In sum ways dey is jus' like peeples.  Wunce dey retires dey lies down an' takes lotsa naps."

Aha!  So Dani is empathizing with Christmas trees now.  It's certainly a lovely thing to do at this time of year and more pussycats and peeples would do well to give it a try.

Dani has found the purrfect Christmas tree toppurr for her head.  It is a lovely emerald-green fascinator with a white half-star on top, and decorated with a complete multi-coloured star.  She has gold and green bells with red bow at her neck, and her eyes are lit up like Christmas tree lights.

One thing I'll betcha.  Dani will be standing up straight when Santa arrives so he can't forget her.  She cannot wait for him to fill her Christmas stocking with all kinds of cat treats and toys -- and maybe even a little catnippy.

Or a lot!!!

FOR THE BIRDS, STARRING DANI

Dani has stars in her eyes when it comes to Christmas.

And they are gold stars, to boot!  Quite appropriate since Dani is our golden girl with many shades of it in her natural coat, and she happens to have quite the heart of gold too.  What a sweetie!

"Peace an' Joy to all livin' fings" says she. 

"Espeshully da birds!"

It seems we are all birds of a feather after all.

And Dani has earned another gold star
 for her most unnatural compassion.

SOX HAS A TASTE OF CHRISTMAS!

Sox is relaxing by the fireplace and inspecting all of the dangly Christmas ornaments.  He looks so very warm and cozy with the glow from the lamp beside him.

"Wot good is ornamints if yoo cant play wif dem?" asks Sox.  "I'm sure Mama wudn't mind if I hadda liddle fling or two.  Mebbe efun a chew?"

SOX CURLS UP IN A BALL

Sox is having a ball today!

Or rather he's IN a ball.  But he's having fun, too, so I guess it can be both ways.  It's nice and cozy inside that sphere, and he gets to watch the snowflakes gently tumble down.

The only part he doesn't like is when someone shakes it up again.  He finds that fairly disconcerting.

However, all in all it was worth it. 

"Now all I needs in heer is a liddle company!"

So Sox sent out a Christmas tweet.

Ain't that sweet?

DANI CHANNELS MRS.CLAWS

Here's Dani all dressed up as Mrs. Claws.

I think it really 'suits' her, don't you?

Not totally satisfied with the Santa dress, Mrs. Claws (aka Dani) puts on one of his hats, and tries to tempt him into being naughty.

When Santa asked her if she was naughty or nice, Mrs. Claws replied:

"I'm NICE 'n NAUGHTY!!!".

So Santa put her on both lists --  to Mrs. Claws' delight.

"I must say you've never looked lovelier, my deer", said he. 

So what did Mrs. Claws get Santa for Christmas?

Why a new pair of glasses, of course!

SOX AND DANI: MONSTER VS. NINJA

Sox is wearing his one-eyed monster hat for a very good reason.  I'll let him explain.

"Dani is afeard a' monstahs.  I'm hopin' dis will stop her frum chasin' me an' bitin' my butt."

However, when Sox came downstairs into the foyer, this is what he saw:

It was Dani in her ninja hat with nunchucks at the ready!

So what did the one-eyed monster do?

Well, first, he was frozen in fear.

And then he ran, as fast as he could -- back upstairs where he came from.

Unfortunately, the best laid plans o' mice and monsters 
gang aft a-gley!
